This Trainer’s course based on the third (2010) edition of “What’s Good About Anger?”, the BARK manual and the newly revised Trainer’s manual will give participants a fresh perspective of anger, practical skills, spiritual references and how anger–which is part of the human experience–can put to use for good.

    About the Trainers/Presenters:


    James Bedell, Psy.D., Is a licensed clinical psychologist has been in practice for 30 years. Dr. Bedell, a Certified Anger Management Trainer/Professional, is the Clinical Director of CounselCare Connection, P.C. and the Anger Management Institute. He is also the Director of the testing division for both organizations. His practice is located at Cornerstone Counseling Center in Cary, Illinois and concentrates on marriage, family, individual, and group counseling, as well as psychological testing and evaluations.

    Dr. Bedell has been an instructor in psychology at Columbia College. He has developed numerous programs and a curriculum for seminaries geared for pastors. Dr. Bedell has been a frequent speaker and retreat leader, focusing on marriage enrichment, father-son issues, men’s issues, father wounds, etc. Dr. Bedell holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, masters work in theology and integration of counseling methods from Trinity International University, and an undergraduate degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Bradley University with a double major in psychology and philosophy.


    Lynette J. Hoy, NCC, LCPC, is a marriage and family counselor, crisis counselor and cofounder of CounselCare Connection, P.C. Mrs. Hoy is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. She is an approved NAMA: Anger Management Specialist-IV, a NAMA Anger Management Supervisor, Consultant and Diplomate. Lynette is also President of the Anger Management Institute in DuPage, Illinois and a Domestic Violence Advocate. She holds a Master's Degree in Community and Family Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from North Park College. As the co-founder of the Anger Management Institute, Mrs. Hoy has authored anger management courses for court-ordered individuals and provides trainer certificates for leaders and counselors who desire to teach anger management and lead groups. She is a speaker, writer and seminar presenter for community groups and professional organizations.


    Steve Yeschek, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and co-founder of CounselCare Connection, P.C. and the Anger Management Institute. Steve was the Director of the Rapha Treatment Center in Chicago for 9 years and has extensive inpatient, out-patient and group experience as a professional in the counseling field. Mr. Yeschek has a Master’s in Social Work degree from Tulane University, School of Social Work in New Orleans, LA. and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, WI. Mr. Yeschek is an approved NAMA: Anger Management Specialist-IV, a NAMA Anger Management Supervisor, Consultant and Diplomate. Steve specializes in counseling individuals with anger, addictions, mood and behavioral disorders and relationship issues. He facilitates the AMI anger management groups and coaches individuals at the Oak Brook office and by phone. Steve is a contributor to the anger management curriculum. He is an Associate Pastor overseeing the caring ministries and support programs at a church in Crystal Lake, IL.

Refunds are subject to a $25.00 service charge. One person may substitute for another on the condition that a letter from the original registrant authorizing the substitution accompanies the new registrant. In the event that CCC finds it necessary to cancel this course for any reason beyond our control, notice will be given to all registrants as soon as possible and a complete refund of registration fees paid will be given to all registrants affected. CCC reserves the right to substitute a qualified presenter should an emergency or sickness impact the scheduled presenter.

    The Anger Management Institute Training certification programs (live workshops & distance-learning courses) are approved and endorsed by the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) meeting their standards for credentialing as a Certified Anger Management Specialist-I (CAMS-1). Participants attending the 2-day Anger Management Institute Trainer-Specialist Workshops immediately qualify for the CAMS-I designation upon membership with NAMA ($100.00 membership fee is extra). Participants successfully completing the Anger Management Institute Trainer-Specialist distance-learning programs qualify for the CAMS-I credential once they complete 4 phone supervision sessions (extra fee) with a NAMA approved Anger Management Institute Supervisor (James Bedell, Lynette Hoy or Steve Yeschek).
